This century has created new environmental problems. Poisoning of the worlds land, air and water is the fast spreading disease of civilization. Over population pollution and energy consumption have created such planet-wide problems as massive deforestation, ozone depletion, acid rains and the global warming, that is believed to be caused by the greenhouse effect. Most of these problems are the results of human activity. Rivers and lakes are used as dumps by industrial factories and plants; seas are filled with industrial and nuclear waste, chemical fertilizers and pesticides; industrial enterprises emit tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere. These emissions have disastrous consequences for our planet.
Many people (not only scientists, but also ordinary inhabitants of big cities, small towns and villages) argue how to help our planet to recover. The main question is not how we could make our planet suffer so much, but what each of us can do in order to save the environment for future generations. We can not clean up our polluted rivers and seas overnight, nor can we stop the disappearing of plants and animals. However each of us can do something to protect nature. It may not be easy to change your lifestyle completely, but some easy steps are easy to make: cut down the amount of driving you do, or use as little plastic as possible. This substance is very harmful for the ecology as it needs years to become decomposed in a natural way. It would also be great if we revived recycling in our country. Something must be done about it in the nearest future. Towns and cities must provide facilities for recycling glass, metal and plastic.
People have to be educated on the need to help the environment. Those who know nothing about the problem often think that the situation is not so bad. They find it difficult and they are too lazy
To take rubbish the have stored at home to the rubbish heaps. These people think that recycling is expensive and leave glass and plastic bottles in parks and forests poisoning the ground. Such consumers with their views are a real disaster of the civilization, the Earth suffers great losses because of their irresponsibility.
Our planet is our home and now, when it is in danger, we must prevent the catastrophe and we can do it with our combined forces.
